OurDream AI vs CrushOn AI: Character Studio or Community Roleplay?

A task-led comparison of OurDream AI and CrushOn AI: creator provenance, model choice, memory, media, cost, and privacy.

A browse-heavy roleplay library and a character-to-media studio can both be called AI companions. That label hides the important difference. OurDream AI asks you to build and visualize characters; CrushOn AI's official pages highlight community characters, conversation, model switching and memory tools. Compare the part you will actually revisit, not a generic feature count.

Character origin changes the test

On CrushOn, a public character may be made by another community member. Read its creator attribution, scenario and any sharing settings before investing in a long chat. On OurDream, decide whether to use a public character or design your own. If you create one, keep the same fictional background, motivations and visual description in your comparison notes. The public-library test and the self-created-character test answer different questions; do not average them into one score.

Memory is not one number

CrushOn documents saved memories separately from the immediate context used for a reply. A larger advertised context window does not prove that a character will recall every detail, nor does a saved note prove it will use the detail naturally. Use three harmless facts about an imaginary town and ask for them again after several unrelated turns. Note which model you selected and whether you saved or loaded memory. Repeat the same exercise in OurDream, recording the chosen model and plan. This is a methodology, not a performance claim.

When media matters

OurDream’s official pages describe image generation, short clips and voice features linked to characters. If that is why you came, test identity continuity across a portrait and a scene rather than judging only chat prose. On CrushOn, spend your first trial on character and model choice instead; do not assume the presence or absence of a media tool without checking the current interface. An honest comparison can find that the services solve different tasks.

Both access rules and prices change. Separate free chat, premium model access, saved memory, image retries and video spending in a simple monthly estimate. Do not use real-world secrets as roleplay prompts, and avoid publishing someone else’s likeness or private conversation. OurDream is worth prioritizing for a fictional character plus media sequence. CrushOn deserves the closer look if community roleplay and control over chat models are your deciding needs.

Our privacy rule for every AI companion
